THE 10

The Ten Commandments can be seen as a bunch of rules, but God doesn’t just drop rules on us. This well know text can be seen as God’s way of ordering our relationship with Him and our neighbors. In fact, what many see as life restricting, is actually very life giving. We will be exploring the freedom that we experience in boundaries, and the love of a Father that desires us to have the instructions pertaining to life as it is intended to be lived. THRIVE! Discipleship Classes

We begin a new era of discipleship with a year round offering of classes intended to grow and mature us as a body of believers. Classes will be offered to encourage us to go deep in our understanding of who Christ intends us to be. In addition to specific book studies in the Bible, many practical courses will also be offered in the areas of parenting, marriage and finances, encouraging us to put our theology to action. THRIVE! is every Tuesday at the church, 6:30 pm.

Garden Project

Our community garden has been planted! The garden has turned a lot of heads, especially its mission to feed our neighbors and our homeless community. In fact, our homeless ministry, including many of those we serve, function as the team making it all happen. It’s rather beautiful to see the collaboration and diversity working the land on a daily basis. Hopefully, many will find physical nourishment, but spriritual as well.

This garden is simply one more gesture to our neighborhood that we desire to be a part of our community; helping each family to feel loved and cared for! Our neighbors have complete access to whatever they need. In addition, our plan is to also have free farmers markets after church on Sundays. We simply can’t wait!

Feeding Watsonville

Our feeding programs are proving to be effective. Second Harvest Food Bank is a great partner which enables us to operate a food pantry, feed homeless, and health programs. The hard workers in our pantry have fed as over 250 people a week. We have a team that travels to the river levee six days a week, serving around 50 daily. We have seen huge success with our passion for produce program. This provides 30 families with produce, and comes with a 30 minute health presentation.

Our newest addition to the feeding program is our neighborhood garden. We are excited to get the garden planted and begin to see God bless our neighbors with free veggies!
